Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and right on its heels comes the ever more important retail day called Black Friday. Black Friday is more than a brick and mortar shopping day. It is fast becoming a major online shopping day as online retailers offer more bargains and brick and mortar shops become an ever increasing hazard to one’s safety and sanity. At the same time, we want to weigh in and admonish those stores who choose to force their employees to work on Thanksgiving in the attempt to get a jump on their competition to offer special savings that most likely won’t be wrapped as gifts for anyone and demean one of the last family holidays left on our calendar, only to make a few extra bucks. Doubtful you will see any of the CEO’s of those big retail companies working at midnight on Thanksgiving like they force their hourly employees to. While we enjoy good deals, our family refuses to be a part of the earlier than thou shopping frenzy. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
