Today is Martin Luther King Day. We celebrate the life of the civil rights leader who was slain in Memphis in 1968 with a national holiday. The idea of MLK Day was a hard fought battle that was waged across many states back in the 80’s and 90’s and even today is one of the more lightly celebrated national holidays.
