I can still remember my parents yelling at me to turn off my “rock & roll” while studying back in high school. Music was thought to be a distraction to learning. For some, music is indeed a distraction.  Then of course, should you be working in a large office space with many people, who gets to decide what you get to listen to? In retail stores, who gets to determine the music? All too often it is the store manager who puts on what they like instead of  turning on what their customers are most likely to enjoy. Everyone is of course different, and we all have different tastes as to what makes us most productive during the day. I, for example, switch between classical and dub step depending on what I am working on. The folks at MusicWorks25 have put together this infographic on how music does work for most.
